However, scores of remedies that were offered for this disease included physical therapy with short wave diathermy, artificial fever, ultaviolet irradiation, roentgen-ray therapy of spleen, non specific foreign protein shock therapy as T.A.B. vaccines intravenously, N.A.B., antimony compounds, acriflavine, mercuro? chrome, trypan blue, methyl violet etc., paraaminobenzoic acid, and the whole series of sulphonamides alone and lately in combination with blood transfusion or streptomycin. None of these had proved satisfactory under critical evaluation. Sulphanomides have been found to exert a mild suppressive effect on the course of this infection but have in no way been curative.
